Badenweiler Castle Ruins

Castle wall with a view of the "Markgräflerland" region

Above the picturesque health resort of Badenweiler in the southern Black Forest, at the foot of the "Blue" Mountain, the castle ruins of Badenweiler rise up as a landmark visible far and wide.  Integrated in the Badenweiler spa gardens, it can be reached in various ways - either via a direct but somewhat steeper stretch or via a circular route called the "Kaffeemühle" (Coffee Grinder), which runs past areas with a charming panoramic view. Late Romanesque window arches have been preserved in the imposing walls. The Keep (Bergfried) is accessible to the public and offers a magnificent view of the area.
