The Kapfenburg was mentioned for the first time in writing, i.e. in a document.

The Hohenlohe Building (Hohenlohebau) was erected.

Bustling building activity reigns on the Kapfenburg under Commander Johann Eustach von Westernach.

1618-1648

 

Kapfenburg Palace is plundered during the Thirty Years' War.

1713-1718

 

Commander Karl Heinrich von Hornstein has the Westernach Building (Westernachbau) remodeled and the Chapel of Lorenz (Lorenzkapelle) built.

1806

 

Napoleon awards the Kapfenburg to King Friedrich von Württemberg.

1957-1962 and 1971/62

 

Initial restoration work is conducted by the state of Baden-Württemberg.

1990

 

The exhibition "800 Years of the Teutonic Order. The Kapfenburg - From the Seat of Nobility to Palace of the Teutonic Order" (800 Jahre Deutscher Orden. Die Kapfenburg-vom Adelssitz zum Deutschordensschloss) is put on at the Kapfenburg.

Since 1999

 

The International Music School Academy (Musikschulakademie) uses the buildings of the Kapfenburg.

Since 2005

 

The extensive restoration measures of the state are completed.
